Middleware Support Engineer

NPO USA is hiring a Middleware Support Engineer for a full-time remote role in Armenia. The role focuses on middleware administration, performance optimization, security and compliance, automation, incident support, and collaboration with engineering and infrastructure teams.

Install, configure, and maintain Apache, IBM WebSphere, Tomcat, and IIS environments; manage deployments, patches, and upgrades; monitor performance and troubleshoot middleware issues; configure clustering and high-availability setups; tune JVMs and servers; apply security patches and SSL/TLS certificates; automate tasks with scripts; integrate systems with CI/CD pipelines; provide L2/L3 support; participate in on-call rotation; and document changes and procedures.

Strong hands-on experience with Apache HTTP Server, IBM WebSphere, Tomcat, and IIS; understanding of HTTP/S, J2EE architecture, web services, and application hosting; experience with Linux/Unix and Windows Server; familiarity with load balancers and reverse proxies; scripting skills in Shell, Bash, Python, or PowerShell; experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix; knowledge of SSL certificates, keystores, truststores, and security protocols; and strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
