Junior Network Security Engineer

NPO USA / NPO Torino is hiring a Junior Network Security Engineer in Yerevan, Armenia. This is a full-time entry-level role within the Network & Security Business Unit, designed for candidates who want to build a career in network security. The role involves supporting senior engineers on enterprise infrastructure projects, working with technologies from Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and F5, and gaining hands-on experience in firewalls, VPNs, network monitoring, incident response, documentation, and security infrastructure support.

Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of network security infrastructures under senior supervision.
Assist with configuration and monitoring of Next-Generation Firewalls from leading vendors.
Perform log analysis, basic incident response, and escalation of security events.
Help manage network security policies and firewall rule sets.
Assist with documentation of network topologies, security configurations, and change management processes.
Participate in troubleshooting network connectivity and security issues.
Contribute to system hardening and vulnerability remediation tasks.
Collaborate with the team to support enterprise clients and grow technical knowledge.

Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting.
Familiarity with firewall concepts and security policy management.
Understanding of VPN technologies such as IPSec and SSL/TLS.
Basic knowledge of at least one security vendor platform, such as Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA/Firepower, or F5.
Understanding of perimeter security, DMZ, NAT, and access control lists.
Degree or current enrollment in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNA Security, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto EDU/PCCSE, CompTIA Security+, Network+, CEH, or eJPT are an advantage.
Good analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, attention to detail, and English communication skills.
